There’s no denying that being a professional athlete or sports player is fairly lucrative, with some of the most successful players of all time ending their careers with hundreds of millions in their bank accounts. Baseball is not exempt from this rule; instead some of the highest paid players of all time made their fortunes playing baseball. These are some of the most financially successful baseball players in history.

  1. Albert Pujols

Born in the Dominican Republic, Albert Pujols is considered by many to be the most consistent performing Major League Baseball players of all time. The player began his career in 2001 with the Cardinals, and has been selected for All-Star a total of nine times and was named National League MVP three times. During his time with the Cardinals, he was earning around $14 million, although since moving to his new team the Angels, he reportedly makes $26 million, along with $7 million in endorsements.

  1. Miguel Cabrera

Miguel Cabrera has had a career fraught with ups and downs, with his breakthrough game only coming in 2000 during his time with the Gulf Coast League. A few years later at the age of 20, he started catching the attention of bigger clubs, and it didn’t take long before he was earning big money thanks to a $152 million contract that he signed with the Detroit Tigers. It’s believed that Cabrera finished his career with a total net worth of well over $110 million, money that most people could only see from winning big at online casinos in Singapore.

  1. Derek Jeter

Born in New Jersey and attending New York Yankee games as a young boy, he decided to become a minor league player once he finished high school in 1996. From there, he worked hard to win Rookie of the Year and World Series some years later, and would eventually work for the Yankee teams that won the Series in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, and then again in 2009. Along with his huge endorsement deals, Jeter has made an incredible amount of money playing for his team, and his net worth is estimated to be around $185 million in total.

  1. Ichiro Suzuki

Hailing from Kasugai in Japan, Suzuki began playing the sport when he was just 7 years old and would go on to join the Pacific League at the age of 18. He became famous for his unusual swing, but it proved useful enough to earn him a record of 200 hits in a single season for Japanese world baseball. He signed on to the Mariners and began to play in the US, where he would win a number of awards before moving on to the Yankees. He has made over $120 million since he began playing a professional level.

  1. Alex Rodriguez

As one of the highest paid athletes of all time, Rodriguez has earned a massive $325 million just from his career salary. Playing for the New York Yankees, he has also been a part of the Texas Rangers and the Seattle Rangers. With a number of records under his belt, Rodriguez has consistently proven his mettle, and his high bank account is enough to prove this.
