Juniors - Season 2011-2012

Scottish Squash Coaching & Exhibition day - 25/07/12

Top Scottish Squash coaches Stuart Crawford and Robin Hammell graced Thurso Squash Club for a day of intense technique and tactics training, much to the keen junior players' delight.

Following the training an exhibition match took place between Stuart and local player, Jamie Henderson - who is now based in Edinburgh within the Scottish Squash Institute at Heriot Watt University. The audience watched in admiration at the standard of play and fast improvement of local player, Jamie against the highly ranked Scottish opponent.

As if that wasn't enough for the day, Robin Hammell and Ian Adamson joined in the days activities for a doubles match to finish off the entertainment.

Junior Christmas Handicap - 21/12/11

In the last few years, a good group of keen youngsters have been invading the Thurso squash courts gaining good experience and freshening up their techniques as much as possible.

With this in mind, it was decided to have a Christmas handicap event to exhibit their skills and improvements.

After a round robin tournament, it was Fraser Steven who just edged the overall points with a win in the final match against Ross Mowat.

Excellent and encouraging performances by all players kept the crowd enthralled, which bodes well for the future.
