Mens Tournaments - Season 2009-2010
Captain's Prize - 05 April 09
Vice Captain wins Opening event
There was a good entry the following day for the Captain's prize and no doubt Vice-Captain Ali Simpson would have been quietly chuffed at capturing the prize with a 38 point Stableford effort although he needed count back after Mark Parsonage and Ronnie Gray also scored 38 points.
Gray had the advantage after a level par outward nine of 35 shots for 22 points, one point clear of Parsonage and three ahead of Simpson.
As ever the inward nine was to prove decisive and the winner repeated his outward total of nineteen points to relegate Parsonage into second place after he came home in 17 points, one better than third placed Gray.
Alan Swanson had the day's best scratch score of 73 for 35 points, one point clear of Sandy Stewart, who had 20 points on the way in, Angus Cameron and Bryan Ronald.
