Ali reaches for the stars with best round ever...

Junior coach Ali Simpson literally set the ball rolling last Wednesday by winning the Wednesday session of the Summer League with his best ever round of 42 Stableford points. This ended a poor run of form for Simpson as he finished three points clear of consistent Keith Dreaves and Andy Costello.

Harvey Cowe, Bryan Sutter and Donald Sutherland were a point further back with Graham Harness also beating the 36 point mark by a point.

There was more of the same the following day when Peter O'Hare won with 41 points, three clear of a group of five players

Michael Forbes, Sandy Reid, Doug Thorburn, with a superb gross 65, and Ian Boyd finished in that order to claim the remaining sweep money.

Young Peter Sangster, now an 11 handicap player, discovered that his 39 point effort went unrewarded.

Jim McLeod and Sandy Steward both had 38 points, one better than Club secretary Bob Black.
