Saturday was the Reay School PTA Open in which a total of 52 played, including 9 ladies and a member of the Chester Golf Club.

With another fine day many expected a low score to win the day however, with the dry spell the course has changed to that expected of a links course. As a consequence stopping a small white ball on the hard surface proved a real challenge.

In division 2 Danny O'Hagan came in 3rd place with a good 71 off 17 being narrowly beaten by John Disbury on countback. George Prince gained 1st place one shot ahead with a 70 off 14.

In division1, 3rd place was taken by the visitor from Chester, Gordon McLeod with an excellent 70 of 8 being beaten by 2nd and 1st place on countback.

In 2nd place was Colin Stewart 70 off 11, pipped to 1st place Gavin Sutherland 70 off 5.

The overall competition winner with the lowest gross of 73 and a nett score of 69 was Neil McDonald.

First place in the ladies section went to Alison Ross with a very competitive nett 70.
