Club Championship & Monthly Medals - Season 2007-2008
Club Championship Halfway News -
31 May 07
At the half way Stage of qualification for 2007 the qualifiers are beginning to look familiar. Leading the way with rounds of 67 a new course record and 77 is Brad Smith with an aggregate total of 144. Sharing second spot on 150 is Lee Parnell and Colin Paterson. Fourth is Don Mackay with 152 and fifth is Graeme Dunnett on 156 alongside John O'Brien. Raymond Taylor and David Mackay (Snapper) occupy the last two spaces. There could be a lot of changes yet as there is another two rounds of qualifying to go and some could easily drop out with people like Alistair Gunn, Grant Maxwell, Donald Mowat, Don Mackay (Snr) and Ian Ritchie all lurking in the wings. It is nice to see the Wilson Cup Team all in the top 5 places and in form. The handicap qualifiers are headed up by Peter McCartney on 141 and Alec Anderson on 142. In the mix are David J.Mowat, Andy Bain, Donald Mowat, Grant Maxwell, Ian Ritchie and Don C.Mackay. The Senior Section is lead by Alistair Gunn who may still qualify for the main championship on 150 followed by George MacDonald and Sandy Chisholm on 151. Also in contention here is Chris Hobson, Kenny Farmer, Evan Sutherland, Will McLeod and George Prince. There is a lot to play for yet and there could still be some interesting changes.
