Halkirk United FC take part in the Port Services Group - North Caledonian League and are known as the 'Anglers'.
After winning the league and a number of trophies in their debut season, success has steadied, slightly but most seasons a trophy is viewable in their cabinet.

Ian 'Blade' MacDonald has been the manager of Halkirk United FC for the past few seasons and has managed to attract a varying style of player to the club from all corners of the county.

The present North Caledonian Cup competition is the direct descendant of the North of Scotland Junior Cup which started in 1888 and the original trophy is the one the teams still play for.

Recreation Park receives a pounding from Halkirk FC, April to August & Halkirk United FC, August to April - with the Halkirk Highland Games also on show once a year.
