Halkirk FC - Reports, Results & Photos - Season 2009-2010

Below is a short breakdown of how ex-Halkirk FC player, Shane Sutherland is progressing in his career with Inverness Caley Thistle.

He recently appeared in some of the clubs pre-season friendlies - namely, versus Dundee United and Annan Athletic (July 2009) producing fine performances and knocking in the odd strike to further swing manager, Terry Butcher's future forward line ideas.

Halkirk FC wishes him all the best in his ever improving career.

New contract for Season 2009-10 - July 2009
Shane continuing for up-and-coming season

Under 19 players Shane Sutherland, Gavin Morrison and Kyle Allison have all been offered first team squad contracts for season 2009/10.

Striker Shane, midfielder Gavin and goalkeeper Kyle all had impressive seasons with the Under 19 squad.

Everyone at the Club wishes them well.

Clydesdale Bank U19 Rising Star Award for August - August 2008
Shane is grabbing the limelight.....


Shane

Under 19 striker Shane Sutherland has been awarded the Clydesdale Bank's U19's Rising Star award for the month of August.

All of the SPL U19's head coach's vote for the best opposition player they have seen playing against their team that month and the player with the most votes win.

The Rising Star awards were launched at the beginning of the 2007/08 season and the awards are the Clydesdale Bank's way of focusing some media attention, on what they hope to be, the Rising Stars for the future.

This is the first time a player from Caley Thistle has won the award.

Shane played against Aberdeen, Hamilton and Hibernian in the month of August scoring two goals in the process and impressing with all round good play and work-rate.

He was signed from Highland League side Wick Academy in July 2007 (previously played for Halkirk FC) and has also featured for the reserve side this season, scoring a double against Hibs a fortnight ago within 8 minutes of coming on as a substitute!
