CBA - Committee Information

The following is a breakdown to some of the key points mentioned at the last Caithness Badminton Association AGM in the Brown Trout Hotel, Watten.

Committee & County Secretaries

Affiliation Fees

It was agreed that the fees should remain the same as last year:-

• Senior Clubs - £20 per team - £10 per second team - £1 per member
• Junior Clubs - £10 per team - £5 per second team
• Sports Council - £10 per Club

Composition of Leagues

After discussion at the recent AGM, it was decided to continue with the format of the County league to an OPEN league. This being one team of eight players and all teams being in a single league.

If a match has to be re-arranged only one alternative date should be given. If this date is not suitable for one team the eight points should go to the other team. There should be no doubling up of points when only one of the two fixtures has been played.

Wick would like to inform all clubs that due to lack of catering facilities they are unable to provide tea and coffee They are happy to give cold drinks and biscuits instead.

Knock Out Cup

• Committee for forthcoming season appointed were - Davie Swanson & Others.
  League teams are reminded to try and complete their matches by the end of February, for the knockout cup committee to fairly judge handicaps in each match.

American Tournaments

• It was agreed to hold a tournament at some stage during the season at Wick Games Hall. Miss C Mowat to make the appropriate arrangements.

Inter-County Matches

• Selection Committee - John Durrand, Mark Mackay & Michelle Cowie.

Caithness Invitation Tournament

As with last year this tournament has been well supported in terms of sponsorship from local businesses and from players taking part.

• Invitation Committee appointed - C Sangster & Davie Swanson.

Fund Raising

• Fund-Raising Committee appointed - Lindsay Coghill & Michelle Cowie

Entertainment

• Dinner Dance to be organised by Latheron Badminton Club.
